Pharaoh Lake Wilderness
The Pharaoh Lake Wilderness Area is located in the Towns of Schroon and Ticonderoga in Essex County and in the Towns of Horicon and Hague in Warren County. The wilderness is 46,283 acres and is located east of Route 9 and Interstate 87, south of Route 74, north of Route 8 and west of Route 9N.
A unit managment plan (UMP) for the Pharaoh Lake Wilderness Area was completed in1992. Also included in the UMP are management recommendations for the Bald Ledge Primitive Area, Gooseneck Primitive Area, Hague Brook Primitive Area, and First Brother Primitive Area.
