2007 Adirondack Park Community Smart Growth Grant Program

In October 2007, New York State announced the availability of $1 million from the Environmental Protection Fund (EPF) for smart growth planning. The funds were made available to Adirondack Park communities for planning projects within the following grant categories:
Village, Hamlet and Town Center Revitalization
Sustainable Economic Development
Cultural, Environmental and Natural Adirondack Resources
The Department received over 50 applications from around the Park, requesting a total of more than $3 million. Applications were evaluated through a pre-established competitive review process. The following projects were awarded funding, as announced at Adirondack Local Government Day in Lake Placid, NY, in March 2008.
