From NYS Thruway Exit 19 and Rhinebeck: Thruway Exit 19, Kingston; at traffic circle, exit west onto Route 28, and in ¼-mile exit onto Route 209 north toward Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge. Cross bridge (the road becomes Route 199). At second light, turn right onto Route 9G south. At next light, turn right onto Route 9 south. Go straight through next light, then continue south on Route 9 for 6.6 miles. Turn right at entrance to Margaret Lewis Norrie State Park. PREPARE TO STOP ALMOST IMMEDIATELY. Cross road parallel to Route 9, and continue into the Park. Cross bridge over railroad tracks. Take first left after bridge, following signs for Research Reserve and marina. Take next left and follow road to end, past marina on your right, 1.3 miles from park entrance. Park in large lot to left of building.

From NYS Thruway Exit 18 and New Paltz: Exit 18, New Paltz; go right (east) on Route 299; follow signs to Mid-Hudson Bridge. Cross bridge and exit right onto Rt. 9 north. Follow directions From South on Route 9.

From South on Route 9: Route 9 north from Poughkeepsie; travel through Hyde Park and past Vanderbilt Mansion. At Hyde Park Nursing Home (on left) slow down and look for sign to Staatsburg; bear left at fork onto Old Post Road and immediately turn left again into Margaret Lewis Norrie State Park. If you pass Route 37/North Cross Road on your right, you went about ½ mile too far. Cross bridge over railroad tracks. Take first left after bridge, following signs for Research Reserve and marina. Take next left and follow road to end, past marina on your right, 1.3 miles from park entrance. Park in large lot to left of building.

From North on the Taconic State Parkway: Exit at Route 199 for Red Hook/Rhinebeck; take Route 199 west to traffic light, bear left onto Route 308 to center of Rhinebeck. Turn left onto Route 9 south, and proceed 6.6 miles south on Route 9 to the entrance to Margaret Lewis Norrie State Park. Turn right at entrance to Margaret Lewis Norrie State Park. PREPARE TO STOP ALMOST IMMEDIATELY. Cross road parallel to Route 9, and continue into the Park. Cross bridge over railroad tracks. Take first left after bridge, following signs for Research Reserve and marina. Take next left and follow road to end, past marina on your right, 1.3 miles from park entrance. Park in large lot to left of building.

From South on the Taconic State Parkway: Exit at Salt Point Turnpike after mile post 58.4. Turn left onto County Route 17/Route 115/Salt Point Turnpike, proceed 0.5 miles, and turn right onto County Route 14/Hollow Road. Proceed 7.5 miles on Route 14 to Route 9G. Turn left on Route 9G and proceed for 1.3 miles. Turn right onto County Route 37/ North Cross Road. Route 37 will end after 1.4 miles at Route 9. Turn left onto Route 9 south and proceed 0.4 miles. Turn right at entrance to Margaret Lewis Norrie State Park. PREPARE TO STOP ALMOST IMMEDIATELY. Cross road parallel to Route 9, and continue into the Park. Cross bridge over railroad tracks. Take first left after bridge, following signs for Research Reserve and marina. Take next left and follow road to end, past marina on your right, 1.3 miles from park entrance. Park in large lot to left of building.
