As we travel down the Hudson's majestic length, the great river's wonders unfold.
While the Hudson gathers its water from the entire watershed, its recognized source is Lake Tear of the Clouds on the southwest side of New York's highest peak, Mount Marcy.
From Lake Tear, the Hudson journeys 315 miles and drops 4,322 feet in elevation on its way to New York Harbor.
