28. Cleaner Beaches on the Hudson River
The City of Kingston's Hudson River Swimming Beach
Construction of sewage treatment plants and control of pollution discharges have led to water quality improvements all along the Hudson. Environmental laws, education and advocacy have worked together to improve the Hudson and surrounding land.
Not only have birds and fish benefited, but today people can enjoy a cool swim on a hot summer day at river beaches, and can fish, boat and watch wildlife along the river's length.
