16. The Striped Bass in the Hudson River

Another anadromous fish that spawns in fresh water in the Hudson is the striped bass. This fish commonly reaches lengths of more than three feet and weights exceeding thirty pounds. The largest Hudson striper on record weighed 58 pounds.

For people who fish the Hudson for sport, the striper is at the top of the list.
