Response to Public Comments on the Draft Scope for the Hudson River Natural Resource Damage Assessment Plan
In the fall of 1998, the Draft Scope for the Hudson River Natural Resource Damages Plan was released for public review. Hundreds attended nine public meetings and thirteen individuals sent in written comments before the review period closed. Comments during the public meetings were captured as recorded notes; written comments were received as letters. In June of 1999, the Trustees released a response to these comments. Both a cover letter (pdf file, 13K) and the response to public comments are now available on this website.
The response to public comments is intended to address most of the questions and concerns raised in the comments. The Trustees have tried to answer as many of the questions as possible. However, some issues require more thorough study and cannot be fully answered at this time. Many of the comments are being used to plan the evaluation of injuries and the assessment of damages.
