William C. Whitney Wilderness Area
The William C. Whitney Wilderness Area is a 20,500 acre area located in the Town of Long Lake in Hamilton County. Located near the geographic center of the Adirondack Park, the property was acquired by the State of New York in 1997.
The William C. Whitney Wilderness is centered around Little Tupper Lake and is currently being managed under a Custodial Plan developed soon after acquisition.
