Northern Chenango Highlands Unit

The Northern Chenango Highlands Unit is located within the Towns of Lincklaen, Otselic, Pitcher and Smyrna in the northwestern corner of Chenango County. The Unit is bisected by NYS Route 26 before it merges into NYS Route 80 at the Hamlet of Otselic. Four forests comprise this management unit. They are: Beaver Meadow , Lincklaen, Bucks Brook, and Otselic State Forests.

The lowest elevation on the Unit is 1,280 feet above sea level at the Otselic River on Otselic; however, this is an exception, as the state forests on this unit are typically on the hill tops. This management unit is named the Northern Chenango Highlands because it has some of the highest elevations found in Chenango County.
