Colgate Lake Wild Forest - Draft Unit Management Plan

The Colgate Lake Wild Forest unit is approximately 1,500 acres in size, with 1,375 acres in the contiguous area of Colgate Lake, and 125 acres in 3 other parcels. It lies in the eastern end of County Route 78 in the Town of Jewett, Greene County. The unit is bordered by the Windham-Blackhead Range Wilderness to the north, east, and south, and by private land on the west. The unit is a popular attraction due to the presence of Colgate Lake, and is an entry point into the Windham-Blackhead Range Wilderness.

For a description of recreational opportunities in the unit, please visit the Colgate Lake Wild Forest recreation page.
