| Description: | An environmental remediation site is an area or structure that
has been contaminated with hazardous waste as defined in Part 371 of Title 6 of the New York Code, Rules
and Regulations, or any site listed on the USEPA's National Priorities List (NPL).
The environmental remediation sites included in this data set are the same sites that have been documented in the Annual Report of the Inactive Hazardous Waste Disposal Sites in New York. The inactive hazardous waste site information in this data set are only accurate as of the Revision Date in the data. Some site specific information, including current clean-up status and site classification are not included in this data set. The Division of Environmental Remediation maintains a comprehensive database of the hazardous waste remedial program in the State of New York. Users of this data set are urged to contact the Department for the most up-to-date information on any hazardous waste site found in this data set. |
