Still Time for Fall Camping in New York's Forest Preserves
More than half of DEC's 52 campgrounds in the Adirondack and Catskill parks are open for fall camping.
Adirondacks

Eighth Lake is one of twenty DEC campgrounds in the Adirondacks that will be open through October 11.
In the Adirondack Forest Preserve, the following facilities remain open through October 11:
Moffit Beach, Northampton Beach, Sacandaga, Eighth Lake, Indian Lake Islands, Lake Durant, Lewey Lake, Glen Island, Lake George Battleground, Long Island, Narrow Island, Rogers Rock, Ausable Point, Crown Point, Lake Eaton, Meacham Lake, Paradox Lake, Saranac Lake Islands, Wilmington Notch and Nick's Lake.
Catskills

Serious hikers and fans of primitive camping will love Devil's Tombstone in Hunter, NY.
In the Catskill Forest Preserve, the following facilities remain open through October 11:
Kenneth L. Wilson, Mongaup Pond, Woodland Valley, Devil's Tombstone and Little Pond.
Some Stay Open Even Longer
In the Adirondacks, Cranberry Lake Campground remains open until October 17, and Fish Creek Ponds Campground remains open until October 24. In the Catskills, North/South Lake Campground remains open until October 24.
