DEC Announces Leashed Tracking Dog Handler Exam - Leashed tracking dogs are used to find wounded or injured big game animals and DEC has periodically held the licensing exam for handlers since 1990.

DEC Accepting Registrations for Its Annual "Becoming an Outdoors-Woman" Workshop - At Becoming an Outdoors-Woman workshops, women learn outdoor skills such as fishing, hunting, map and compass reading, camping and wilderness first aid in a fun and stress-free atmosphere.

DEC Commissioner Applauds Appeals Court Victory on Ballast Water - EPA must eliminate the former exemption of ocean-going ships from ballast water discharge restrictions in New York waters. Ballast discharges from ocean-going vessels have caused the spread of damaging invasive species such as zebra mussels among others.
