From the May 2008 issue
New Maps of Hudson River Boating and Fishing Access Sites Available
The Hudson River Estuary provides extensive opportunities to enjoy nature and reconnect with the past, and with new maps developed by the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), it's now even easier to find public-access sites. The maps show numerous locations for public fishing and boating between Troy and Yonkers and will help residents and visitors make the most of their river experience.
A total of 91 Hudson River public-access sites along more than 100 shoreline miles are displayed on 19 clickable maps that link to detailed information about each location. The maps include driving directions, hours of operation, contact numbers and available facilities, including access for people with disabilities. They also include relevant information about river ecology and responsible fishing and boating, making trips to the river safer and more enjoyable.
