New Hudson River Exhibit on Display
Early last month, a new exhibit was dedicated celebrating the Tivoli Bays on the Hudson River. The exhibit was developed by DEC's Hudson River Research Reserve with funding from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and in partnership with the Village of Tivoli.
Highlights of the exhibit include artifacts from local native people, a 3D magnified model of some little-known inhabitants of the bays' mud floor, a computer microscope for viewing aquatic specimens, and information about tides and trails. The Tivoli Bays Visitor Center also will house "The Hudson River Collection," an extension of the Tivoli Free Library.
The Visitor Center is open to the public during the Tivoli Free Library's regular hours, or by appointment. Tivoli Bays can be reached by footpath from the Visitor Center and via other designated access points.
