Governor Announces $9 Million for Water Projects
New York State will grant more than $9 million in interest-free loans to six municipalities for drinking water and wastewater projects. The financing is being provided through the Drinking Water and Clean Water State Revolving Funds (SRFs).
Drinking Water SRF
The Drinking Water SRF offers a significant financial incentive for public water suppliers to finance needed drinking water infrastructure improvements with grants, and short-term interest-free and long-term low-interest rate loans. Since the Drinking Water SRF's inception, more than $128 million in grants and $894 million in reduced interest rate financing have been awarded for drinking water improvement projects throughout New York State.
Clean Water SRF
The Clean Water SRF offers short-term interest-free loans and long-term reduced interest rate financing for eligible water pollution prevention projects. Communities throughout the state have used a total of $8.6 billion in Clean Water SRF low-interest financing for projects that prevent water pollution.
