Environment DEC

From the March 2003 issue
DEC's Environmental Education Centers Serve the Public Year-Round
DEC operates five fully staffed environmental education centers across New York State offering classes and programs on environmental awareness. Each center has interpretive trails, exhibit areas and meeting rooms, and each offers family events throughout the entire year.
Workshops for teachers provide opportunities for professional growth, and internships are available for people interested in pursuing careers in natural history or related fields. Classes for students include guided field trips through diverse habitats. Other programs include evening and weekend walks and talks on natural history topics, as well as large festivals.

Wetlands at the Quoque Wildlife
Refuge offer visitors a serene view
DEC's five education centers are: Five Rivers (Albany Co.), Rogers (Chenango Co.), Stony Kill (Dutchess Co.), the Quoque Wildlife Refuge (Suffolk Co.) and Dr. Victor Reinstein Woods (Erie Co.).
