Department of Environmental Conservation Seeks Assistance from Website Users
Long-time users of DEC's Website know that the site has been available to the public for nearly nine years. During that period, it has grown dramatically to become a heavily used resource. In 2004, more than 2 million visitors obtained information from the site on such diverse topics as hunting, brownfields, recycling and forest rangers.
DEC's Website currently uses five main navigation
buttons at the top of the home page
DEC has begun redesigning its website with the goals of making it more attractive and easier to use. In particular, we will focus attention on the way that our information is organized and used online.
To ensure that everyone is able to understand our website information, DEC is seeking assistance from the general public with this project. Volunteers must be willing to spend a few hours at DEC's offices in downtown Albany and participate in one or two web-related exercises. No prior experience with our website or agency is necessary.
