Seventh Annual Hudson River Valley Ramble Scheduled

Numerous activities and events have been planned for this year's Hudson River Valley Ramble, to be held on September 16 and 17 and September 23 and 24. Activities have been grouped into one of two categories-the "National Heritage Area" and the "Hudson River Estuary."

The National Heritage Area encompasses multiple stops along the Revolutionary War Trail, the Hudson River School Art Trail and the Great Estates. The Hudson River Estuary includes various themes such as Boating and Paddling; Exploring Life on the Edge; The Far Reaches, and Tours, Festivals and Exhibits.

Many of the scheduled hikes
include discussions of the local
flora and fauna or the history
of the area

Activities and events are divided among the upper, middle and lower Hudson Valley. Some require registration and/or a fee, many are wheelchair accessible, and most will be held rain or shine.

Following the Hudson River Valley Ramble, two additional events also are scheduled and open to the public-"National Estuaries Day" on Saturday, September 30, 2006 and "A Day in the Life of the Hudson River" on Thursday, October 12, 2006.
