Governor Announces $18 Million for Water Quality Projects
Governor George E. Pataki announced $18.3 million in state grants (for drinking water only) and interest-free and low-interest financing for water pollution control and drinking water projects in 12 New York State communities. The funding is being provided through the New York Clean Water State Revolving Fund and the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF/DWSRF). The New York CWSRF/DWSRF offer significant financial assistance for public water suppliers to finance needed sewer and water infrastructure improvements.

Communities receiving funding include the following: Town of Cortlandville, Cortland County; Village of St. Johnsville, Montgomery County; Westchester County; City of Ithaca, Tompkins County; Village of Richmondville, Schoharie County; City of Troy, Rensselaer County; Wayne County Water and Sewer Authority; Town/Village of Harrison, Westchester County; Town of Ellisburg, Jefferson County; Town of Richmond, Ontario County; Village of Philmont, Columbia County, and the Village of Voorheesville, Albany County. EFC/DEC/DOH Administration
Administered by the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation (EFC) and the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), the CWSRF has provided more than $10 billion in financing for water pollution control projects throughout New York State. The DWSRF is administered by the EFC and the Department of Health (DOH), and has provided communities with more than $1 billion in financing for drinking water improvement projects.
