New York State Urban and Community Forestry Council and Releaf Conference
The New York State Urban and Community Forestry Council and the Department of Environmental Conservation's (DEC) Region 3 Releaf Urban Forestry Volunteer Committee will co-sponsor the annual "New York ReLeaf" Conference on July 8-10, 2004 at Marist College in Poughkeepsie. This conference will showcase the Hudson Valley and offer workshops and tours of the area, highlighting successful urban and community forestry efforts. It also will provide an opportunity for conference attendees to network with others from throughout the state who share their interest.
Communities want to preserve the forest ecosystem, and the trend toward efficient and effective techniques for renewing our green infrastructure is gaining momentum. One of many topics for discussion is the enhancement of landscapes by planting greenery alongside municipal streets and roadways.
