New York's Greenhouse Gas Stakeholder Process
The New York State Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative stakeholder process provides opportunities to discuss issues with other participants and staff from the state departments of Environmental Conservation and Public Service. Members of the public are invited to attend the meetings. Details of the next scheduled meeting are available on this website.
Between 2003 and 2007, New York State convened stakeholders 14 times, concurrently with the RGGI regional stakeholder process. At NYS RGGI Stakeholder Group meetings, DEC staff brief New York stakeholders on progress and issues, and stakeholders provide informal input to agency representatives. Information from the staff briefings is available through the Greenhouse Gas Meeting Presentations link.
New York's draft regulations are the culmination of these dozens of public stakeholder meetings, which included energy industry representatives and non-governmental agencies.
