Land Use and Transportation Planning Support CSC Coordinator
A Toolkit of Leading Practices
The Environmental Analysis and Communication Group, which is based out of the Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University, is developing a toolkit of leading practices for use by all Climate Smart Communities. The toolkit will highlight practices for Climate Smart Communities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through local land use, zoning, transportation planning, infrastructure investment and green infrastructure development, and the adoption of progressive building codes related to energy efficiency, renewable energy, land-use planning, and site improvement standards. The toolkit is being designed to address the specific needs and priorities of the full range of New York communities participating in the Climate Smart Communities program. The Rutgers Team will also be aligning this work with the work New York State is doing through the Transportation Climate Initiative.
