Central New York CSC Coordinator

From 2012 to 2015, the Central New York Regional Planning and Development Board (CNYRPDB) served as the Climate Smart Communities Regional Coordinator for the counties of Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga and Oswego. CNYRPDB assisted Climate Smart Communities in the region to prepare local energy and climate action plans, adopt local land-use and transportation policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and identify and implement clean-energy demonstration projects. To accomplish these goals, the CNYRPDB and its consultant, ICF International, prepared a greenhouse gas inventory, which allocated regional emissions to each of the region's communities in order to establish a baseline for guiding local action and measuring progress.
