Underground Gas Storage
A well permit is required from the Division of Mineral Resources for each underground gas storage well. This includes any operation to drill, deepen, plug back or convert a well. A separate underground storage permit is required for a new underground storage facility or a capacity modification of an existing facility or conversion of a liquefied petroleum gas storage facility to a natural gas storage facility.
