Proposed Spacing and Integration Order Terry Hill South Field
The Oil, Gas and Solution Mining Law requires public notice and hearing to implement field-wide spacing and integration rules when necessary to prevent waste, provide greater ultimate recovery of the hydrocarbon resource and protect the correlative rights of all owners, including landowners. Public hearings took place in Painted Post on December 3 and 4, 2002, on the matter of field-wide spacing and integration in the Terry Hill South Field. This field is located in the towns of Catlin and Veteran in Chemung County and the Towns of Dix and Montour in Schuyler County.

Unit Sizes for Wells Drilled Prior to the Order: 323-640 acres
Unit Sizes for Future Wells: 320-640 acres
Minimum Spacing Between Future Wells: 9,000 feet (along strike of a common geologic feature)
Extension Well Distance: 5 miles

Establishes eight spacing units and permitting and unit approval procedures for future wells in the field. Authorizes release of royalty payments to all mineral rights owners other than petitioners.
Commissioner's First Interim Decision dated December 21, 2004
Rules that petitioners failed to raise an adjudicable issue concerning proposed spacing units' size and configuration. Directs Department staff to prepare a Commissioner's Order establishing the proposed spacing units and releasing escrowed royalties to all mineral rights owners other than petitioners.
