The Department has made
a tentative determination to re-issue a Mined Land
Reclamation permit for the continued mining of unconsolidated sand and gravel from
71.6 acres of a previously approved life-of-mine facility and to modify the permit to
authorize mining of sand and gravel from an additional 8.6 acres in the northwest corner
of the mine for a total life-of-mine of 80.2 acres on a 188 acre parcel owned by Syracuse
Sand & Gravel, LLC. The application, Mining and Reclamation Plans are available for
review in the Syracuse office.

control the invasive Glossy Buckthorn over 75 acres of the
Selkirk Fen by hand application of the herbicide Rodeo to cut stumps. This 5 year project
aims to reduce the invasive species and restore bog turtle and bog buckmoth habitat. The
