Project Location: This unit area is located in the Steuben County Towns of Erwin, and Addison.
Project Description: The 3,797 acre Erwin unit is two state-owned forests, McCarthy Hill State Forest and Erwin Mountain State Forest, and one state-owned wildlife management area, the Erwin Wildlife Management Area.The plan is currently available for your review at the NYS DEC offices in Avon and Bath, the Addison Public Library and Southeast Steuben County Library. We encourage you to review the plan and provide us with any comments you may have on the proposed plan. You are invited to attend a public meeting starting at 7pm on April 26, 2007, at the Erwin Town Hall in Painted Post. Written and oral public comments will be accepted on the draft plan until May 26, 2007.
The draft plan offers general information on the unitís history and geology, an inventory of the unitís resources, such as mineral resources, vegetative types and stages, fish, wildlife and habitat and a summary of identified issues, such as access, vegetative management and oil and gas leasing. It also describes the proposed goals and objectives and policy considerations in managing the unit.
Steuben County - The Bath Municipal Utilities Commission, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Village of Bath electric distribution system voltage conversion will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a Village-wide electric distribution system voltage conversion including expansion of systems to meet anticipated long-range electric distribution demand. The project would include consolidation of existing sub-station facilities. The project is located in the entire Village of Bath.
