Project Description: The action involves the reconstruction of the Colgate Lake Dam to satisfy New York State Dam Safety criteria for spillway capacity and stability. The project requires the removal of 341 trees larger than 4" diameter breast height on approximately 3/4 of an acre prior to excavation and removal of the old dam. The trees will be chipped and spread on site. A review of the Natural Heritage information in the Master Habitat Database found no endangered or threatened animals, plants or communities located within the project boundaries. This notice is in compliance with the policy LF-91-2 , Cutting, Removal or Destruction of Trees on Forest Preserve Lands. The New York Natural Heritage Program does not have any record of threatened or endangered species in the project area.

Negative Declaration

Greene County - The Village of Athens, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Fourth Street Launch will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves construction of a kayak/canoe launch for a new public access to the Hudson River. Project design includes shoreline stabilization and/or bulkhead replacement and natural landscape plantings. In addition, project design includes associated parking and public amenities, such as signage and lighting. The project is located on Fourth and Water Streets, Athens, NY.

Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS

Montgomery County - The City of Amsterdam Industrial Development Agency, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed construction and operation of a debris landfill and recycling center. The action involves the construction and operation of a construction and demolition debris landfill and recycling center. The project is located at Edson Street Industrial Park, Amsterdam, New York.
