Project Description: Applicant propose a regulated activity involving wetlands: The use of benthic barriers in Lake Luzerne to control Eurasian watermilfoil (EWM). The benthic barriers will be placed in areas with the largest infestations of EWM and will continue annually from June through September for up to five years, as determined necessary by the applicant and their consultant. In addition, hand harvesting of EWM at selected sites will completed during the months of July and August each year.

Project Title: Village of Saranac Lake

Location: New York State Route 3 and the Saranac River in the Village of Saranac Lake and Town of St. Armand, Essex County

Project Description: The action involves replacement of a structurally deficient bridge involving temporary wetland impacts and vegetative cutting adjacent to the Saranac River, a designated recreational river in the NYS Wild, Scenic and Recreational River System. The existing two-span 12-foot wide bridge is to be replaced with a single-span bridge measuring 32 feet in width.

Project Title: Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks

Location: Hosley Avenue, Town of Tupper Lake

Project Description: Construction of an observation tower of steel and wood. The 5,500 square foot (footprint), 480 foot long, 40 foot tall structure will consist of a series of elevated platforms connected by 8 foot wide bridged walkways. It will be located more than 400 feet from the Raquette River and will be no taller than the tree canopy in the immediate surrounding area. The structure will be handicap accessible. All lighting will be directed towards the ground.


Negative Declaration

Franklin County - The New York State Department Of Environmental Conservation, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Tracy Mine Expansion will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the applicant, Richard Tracy, proposing to mine sand & gravel from an 8.0 acre Life of Mine Area on a 93.0 acre parcel of land. No screening or washing of the gravel or other treatment is proposed. Gravel will be trucked from the mine approximately 1,800 feet to Jerdon Road via a partially existing haul road. The reclamation objective is for the re-establishment of pasture lands. The proposed mine is located 1,800 feet south of Jerdon Road and 1,200 feet west of River Road.

Saratoga County - The Town of Halfmoon Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Hudson Ridge Planned Development District will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a multi-family residential community consisting of 200 residential dwelling units, with accessory structures. The project is located at Stone Quarry Road & Route 9, Town of Halfmoon.
