Meeting Notice

NYCDEP will host a Public Meeting in accordance with State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) Discharge Permit No. NY-026-8151, for the Shandaken Tunnel Outlet, at 10:00 a.m. on March 29, 2007 at the NYCDEP office in Kingston, located at 918 Ulster Ave. NYCDEP will discuss the progress of turbidity reduction projects it proposes to undertake as well as management efforts that may be undertaken by volunteers and other concerned groups and individuals.

In addition, NYCDEP welcomes input on stream quality from the public.

Negative Declaration

Delaware County - The Town of Franklin Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the adoption of revisions to the Town of Franklin Zoning Law in accordance with the recently adopted Comprehensive Plan will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves revisions to the existing Zoning Law for the Town of Franklin, New York to ensure compliance with New York State Town Law and to implement recommendations contained within the recently adopted Comprehensive Plan. The project is located townwide.

Project Location: Approximately 2 miles northwest of Delaware County Route 27 in the Town of Masonville

Project Description: This project will involve an herbicide reduction of ferns, non-commercial tree species, and undesirable low valued tree species to allow the natural regeneration of desired tree species such as red oak and black cherry. The action is to take place on 73 acres of State Forest currently occupied by stands of red oak, black cherry, sugar maple and red maple. Impact on public health is minimal. Personnel will be equipped with safety equipment. Following label instructions for the application will minimize risk.


Positive Declaration

Albany County - The City of Albany Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed demolition of six-existing buildings located in the Downtown Albany Historic District and the redevelopment may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves demolition of six-existing buildings located in the Downtown Albany Historic District (132,134,136,138, and 140 State Street; 59 and 67 Howard Street) and to redevelop and construct a fourteen story building to include: 1) up to ±421,073 sq. ft. of Class A commercial office space [total building area ±460,151sq. ft.]; 2) ±7,172 sq. ft. ground floor retail on State Street; 3) 12 residential units and 4) a plan to preserve the “streetscape” of this portion of the Downtown Albany Historic District. The project is located at 132,134,136,138, and 140 State Street; 59 and 67 Howard Street, Albany.

Notice Of Acceptance Of Final Generic EIS

Montgomery County - The Village of Canajoharie, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Generic Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Village Comprehensive Plan. The action involves the adoption of a draft comprehensive plan for the Village of Canajoharie and potential subsequent actions as recommended in the Plan. The project is Village wide.
