Ontario County - The Village of Naples, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Village of Naples Public Water Supply Improvements will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the Village of Naples proposing to make various improvements to their water supply system. Work proposed includes construction of two water filtration buildings, installation of security fence, telemetry, reconstruction of spring collectors, water main replacement, installation of a by pass valve, installation of emergency generators and security systems. Details of these improvements are described in an engineering report prepared by Chatfield Engineers, Rochester, NY, dated June 16, 2006. The work proposed will improve security and management of the existing water system, and address certain water pressure and depreciation issues. Most significantly, this work also provides filtration sufficient to meet present regulatory requirements for filtration of a ground water supply subject to surface water influence. The project is located in the Village of Naples, Ontario County.
