The Village of Savona proposes
to take a supply of water estimated to average 92,575
GPD with a daily maximum of 166,635 GPD for use in a new water supply and
distribution system by installation of two 183 gallon per minute wells. This project
includes the installation of 4500 linear feet of 12-inch and 25,000 linear feet of 8-inch
water main and appurtenances to serve commercial and 822 residential units. The
permittee shall make provisions to provide water to those residents whose private well-water systems
are diminished by the permittee's use of the sources of water approved by
this proposed permit. The water treatment will not generate any waste streams. As a
tentative determination, the Department seeks comments. The file is available for review
and comment at the NYSDEC Region 8 office in Avon.

Construction of a 500ft.
limestone block shore stabilization wall along a man made
channel on the south end of Canandaiguua Lake. The existing timber and pipe retaining
walls will be removed. The new wall will be placed at a 2 on 1 slope with large
limestone blocks being placed on #3 crusher run. Whenever possible existing vegetation
will be left in place and/or new vegetation will be planted.
