Pruden Residence in the town of Rush. This is a pre-existing
Private/Commercial/Institutional SPDES permit. DEC has made a tentative
determination to renew this permit and set a standard five year term maintaining current
effluent limitations and monitoring and reporting requirements. This permit involves the
surface discharge of up to 450 gallons per day of treated sanitary waste into Honeoye
Creek, a class C stream.

The applicant proposes to
modify the existing mining permit to include mining below the
water table, a water-based reclamation objective, and a wash plant at the existing sand
and gravel mine. The mine will continue to operate as a traditional excavation of sand
and gravel with the addition of a drag line to excavate below the water table. The plant
will recirculate wash water in a closed loop system at a maximum rate of 1,000 gpm.
Final reclamation will create a +/- 20 acre recreational pond. No other changes are
proposed to the operational characteristics of the mine. The mine is located on Sodus
Center Road in the Town of Sodus.
