The applicant has applied
for a mining permit for 4.57 acres in one phase. The site will be
mined primarily for shale. The mine will be operated year round. No blasting will occur
in the mining process; the mining procedure will employ natural weather elements to
break apart the product. No processing or crushing of stone will be conducted on site. The
site is located on the north side of County Route 20 and east of Prink Hill Lane in the
town of Durham.
