Project Title: Completion of draft unit management plans and notice of public meeting for the Nicks Lake Public Campground, Alger Island Public Campground, and Fourth Lake Day Use Area.
A public meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday February 15, at the Town of Webb Information Center, Old Forge, NY. Comments on the unit management plans are welcome and will be accepted until March 15, 2007.

Project Description: Region 6 DEC, as lead agency, announces the completion of Draft Unit Management Plans for the Nicks Lake Campground, Alger Island Public Campground, and Fourth Lake Day Use Area.
This action involves the completion of management plans for DEC operation and maintenance of these Intensive Use Area campgrounds and day use area in keeping with the Adirondack Park State Land Master Plan. Proposed management actions at Nicks Lake include: improve fishing and waterway access, construct four new comfort stations, construct a new sign standard, resurface roads and parking area, rehabilitate the potable water system, and control stormwater runoff in the campground. Proposed management actions at Alger Island and Fourth Lake include: upgrade toilet facilities, construct two docks, stabilize shoreline, resurface roads and parking area, and repair leantos.
Nicks Lake is located on Bisby Road approximately 1.5 miles southwest of the village of Old Forge. Alger Island and Fourth Lake Day Use Area are located on Fourth Lake of the Fulton Chain of Lakes, approximately five miles northeast of the village of Old Forge.
