Project Description:
The applicant is seeking a permit to operate a four acre sand and gravel mine, with an expected life of five years. The site, located on the west side of the Brown-Benoit Road approximately 1 mile north of Brown-Benoit and County Route 27 intersection, is part of a 32 acre parcel owned by Robert and Michelle Fountain. Upon completion of mining, the entire site will be reclaimed to re-establish native grass and woody cover. The proposal is also being reviewed by the Adirondack Park Agency, under APA Project No. 2006-131.

The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The permit type is exempt or the activity is being reviewed in accordance with federal historic preservation regulations.

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
