The applicant proposes the relocation of approximately 1,450 feet of an existing drainage swale to facilitate an expansion of the existing retail store. The swale is considered a federally regulated freshwater wetland. The applicant is proposing to mitigate the wetland impacts through the creation of approximately 1,850 feet of drainage swale, surrounded by an upland shrub buffer, to be located east of the existing swale.

Replacement of the Saunders Road Bridge over the Canisteo River in Steuben County. The work will involve removal of the existing one span truss bridge and replacement with a new single span bridge on a new horizontal alignment and vertical profile as well as approach work including full-depth pavement reconstruction of Saunders Road necessary to construct the bridge.  The Bridge and approach sections of Saunders Road necessary to construct the bridge.  The bridge and approach sections for the proposed action are designed with a 10 ft travel lane and 4 ft shoulder in each direction.  The new bridge will be located approximately 98 ft upstream of the existing bridge.  The existing bridge will remain open to vehicular traffic during construction until the new bridge is built at which time the existing bridge will be demolished.

To complete this project work below the Ordinary High Water (OHW) is required. There will be a net fill of +/-697Cubic yard below OHW.
