ENB Region 5 Completed Applications 01/24/2007

The project involves replacement of the existing bridge with a new, 50 meter long, single span bridge constructed on an adjacent alignment, with 810 meters of approach reconstruction.  The superstructure will be multiple steel girder with a composite concrete deck and will be supported on a cast-in place concrete substructure founded on drilled shafts to bedrock.  Approximately 2,300 cubic meters of heavy rock fill will be placed below the mean high water level in front of the new abutments as scour protection. Traffic will be maintained during construction using an off-site detour.  This will involve replacement of the Cargin Road bridge over the Salmon River, with a new, 24 meter span strucutre including precast, prestressed concrete adjacent box beams with a composite concrete deck, supported on cast-in-place concrete abutments on the existing alignment, with 105 meters of approach reconstruction.
