Suffolk County - The County of Suffolk, Office of the County Executive, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Generic Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Suffolk County Vector Control and Wetlands Management Long-Term Plan. Subsequent to the prior Environmental Notice Bulletin (ENB) posting on acceptance of the Final GEIS (posted in ENB on 11/22/06), requests for additional clarification have been submitted to Suffolk County and its Council on Environmental Quality, with respect to issues already addressed in the Final GEIS. Accordingly, the Final Supplemental GEIS provides additional information regarding larviciding thresholds, pesticide synergy (specifically, pyrethroids and piperonyl butoxide), and future review of potential environmental impacts associated with methoprene (i.e., based on the possibility of new scientific findings). The FGEIS is available at www.suffolkmosquitocontrolplan.org. The project location is all of Suffolk County.
