Steuben County - The Town of Corning, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Floodplain Amendments To The Town of Corning Zoning Law and Repeal of Local Law No. 1 Of The Year 2001 "Flood Damage Prevention" will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves repeal Local Law No. 1 of the year 2001, "Flood Damage Prevention," which duplicates more recent provisions in Article 6 of the Zoning law, "Flood Damage Prevention District." Revise Article 6 to: (1) modify construction requirements with in Special Flood Hazard Area to require flood protection to a higher elevation for buildings regulated by this section (elevation to two feet above Base Flood Elevation or floodproofing to three feet above Base Flood Elevation), (2) add a procedural clarification specifying that the planning board may delegate floodplain management authorities to the Code Enforcement Officer, (3) revise the description of the written notice that will be required for some variances and specify that a copy of this notification will be maintained, and (4) correct the map dates. The project location is Mapped Special Flood Hazard Areas throughout the Town of Corning including : Erwin Creek, Cutler Creek, Post Creek, Winfield Creek, Markle Hollow Creek, Bailey Creek, Whiskey Creek, Chemung Feeder Canal (all tributary to Chemung River), and the Chemung River.

Steuben County - The Town of Corning, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Zoning Amendments to the Town of Corning Zoning Law concerning mining will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves revisions to Article 9 Conditional Uses to include additional standards; revisions to definitions of mining to establish small- and large-scale mining and to limit the size of a mine to 10 acres; and revisions to Section 11.15 in expand upon the intent, clarify and expand regulations of small-scale and large-scale mining, and clarify the conditions for review of a permit after five years. The project is located in R-1, R1-C, PRD, PD and I zoning districts for mining Townwide.

Livingston County - The Town of Geneseo Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Gateway Town Centre - Lowe's Home Improvement Center Project may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. Deadline to submit written comments shall be January 2, 2007. All written comments shall be provided to the Town Clerk for the Town of Geneseo, 119 Main Street, Geneseo, New York 14454. The action involves construction of a +/- 141,773 square foot Lowe's Home Improvement Center (plus +/- 31,179 square foot garden center) and a +/- 14,820 square foot pharmacy, as well as associated parking areas, driveways, utilities, landscaping and stormwater improvements. The project is located on the northeast side of intersection of N.Y. State Route 20A and Volunteer Road, Town of Geneseo, Livingston County, State of New York.
