The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) administers the Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) pursuant to State Environmental Conservation Law (ECL) 27-1400 et seq. The BCP was created to encourage the remediation and redevelopment of contaminated properties known as brownfields. Orange County - The Village of Warwick Planning Board, as lead agency has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Village View Estates -29-lot residential subdivision. A copy of the DEIS will be available for public review at the Village of Warwick Village Hall, and also at the Albert Wisner Public Library. The complete DEIS will be available online at www.hdrprojects.com/villagevieweis. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2007, at 7:30 p.m. at the Village of Warwick Village Hall, 77 Main Street, Warwick, NY. Comments on the document will be accepted by the Lead Agency through Monday, January 29, 2007, or ten days after the close of the public hearing, whichever is later. The action involves a proposed 29- lot residential subdivision of a 20.3-acre tract of land in the Village of Warwick, located at the Village's boundary with the Town of Warwick. The site is composed of four different adjoining tax map parcels Section 201, Block 1, Lots 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, and 2. The site fronts on the corner of Locust Street and Woodside Drive, and the subdivision involves the need to construct an internal road network to serve the lots. This internal road network involves two proposed roads connecting to Locust Street opposite Valley View Estates subdivision. The drainage improvements that are proposed as part of the site development in the Town of Warwick extend onto Town of Warwick tax map parcels Section 31, Block 2, Lot 85.2 (swale and stormwater detention basins) and swales on Section 43, Block 1, Lots 3, 4.12, and 4.2. The site is a vacant 20.3-acre parcel of overgrown former agricultural land located at the corner of Woodside Drive and Locust Street in the Village of Warwick at the Town of Warwick boundary.

Westchester County - The North Salem Town Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Generic Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Comprehensive Plan Update. The action involves a succinct statement of the planning strategies and actions that are proposed for implementation throughout the next ten to twelve years of development in the Town of North Salem. This Plan is intended to be an update to the Town of North Salem Master Plan, adopted in 1985. The Comprehensive Plan includes a number of recommendations specific to land use and zoning, residential development, economic development, natural resource protection, traffic and transportation, and community facilities and services. The specific strategies are updated in response to the changing conditions and needs of the Town and the development trends affecting the community and the surrounding region.

Ulster County - Village of New Paltz Planning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Victorian Square a proposed 80 unit Residential Development. A copy of the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS), plans, and related materials may be reviewed in the Village of New Paltz Building Department, New Paltz Village Hall, 25 Plattekill Avenue, New Paltz, New York on normal business days between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. The action involves the applicant proposing to construct 80 two-bedroom rental units, 34 of which would be reserved for senior citizen occupancy in accordance with the Village of New Paltz Zoning Code. The project would utilize both municipal water and sewer services. Principal access to and from the site is proposed to be a private driveway leading directly from South Manheim Boulevard (NYS Route 32 South). The project is located approximately 10.76 acres of vacant land located east South Manheim Boulevard (Route 32 South) within the Village of New Paltz, New York. The easternmost portion of the property borders directly on the Town of New Paltz. It is designated on the Tax Map of the Village of New Paltz as parcel numbers 86.042-07-Lots 1-13 and 1-17 and is currently zoned R-2.
