ENB Region 5 Completed Applications 11/29/2006

The applicant requests a modification to the recently approved mining permit for a sand and gravel mine located on the west side of Blackman Corners Road, approximately 1,300 feet south of North Star Road, on lands owned by Clinton C. Morse.   The proposed modification involves increasing the permit term acreage (from 16.78 to 41 acres) and adding a portable, on site crusher.  The site will undergo concurrent reclamation, with areas no longer needed for extraction purposes being promptly and successfully reclaimed.

Filed application documents, and Department draft permits where applicable, are available for inspection under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Law during normal business hours at the address of the contact person.

The applicant proposes to move the existing shoreline north 10 feet and west 31 feet to make the front of the property more appealing and useful.   Work on the project will be in the winter when the lake level has been drawn down and the ground is frozen.  There will be no equipment in the water.  The existing concrete walls will be broken up and removed.  An area 10 feet by 31 feet will be filled with gravel and then fabric installed across the entire front of the property and down the west side to the existing stone wall. Rip rap will be installed over the fabric at an approximately 45 degree angle.  Topsoil will be installed on the filled area and grass seed applied.
