Project Description: This notice is to acknowledge that the Commissioners of the Department of Environmental Conservation and the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation have approved the Final Snowmobile Plan for the Adirondack Park/Final Generic Environmental Impact Statement.
Lewis County - The County of Lewis, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed "A Local Law Establishing Regulations For The Operation Of All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) On Existing Truck Trails, Logging Roads And Similar Trails Presently Located On Certain County Reforestation Lands" will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the adoption of a local law that will establish regulations for the use of ATV's on existing logging and truck trails on 33 of the 57 County reforestation parcels. Regulations include without limitation, uniform signing, prohibiting "rogue" trails, establishing speed limits, and supervised operation by children under the age of 16. The project is 33 parcels of County-owned reforestation land located in the Towns of New Bremen, Pinckney, Montague, Lyonsdale, and Greig.

Herkimer County - The Town of Warren, 544 Kingdom Road, Mohawk, New York, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Jordanville Wind Project. The public comment period will end on December 15, 2006. The written comments should be addressed to the contact person listed below. The proposed Jordanville Wind Project is a wind energy facility that includes 68 wind turbines each producing 2 mw of power in the Towns of Warren and Stark in Herkimer County, New York. The project includes the construction of access roads, underground collection lines and overhead transmission lines as well as construction staging areas and operational structures.
The project area of more than five thousand acres of private land is located in Herkimer County, south of the Mohawk River in the Towns of Warren and Stark, south of the Village of Herkimer and the Hamlet of German Flatts , north of the Village of Richfield Springs and west of the Hamlet of Starkville.
