Project Description: This notice is to acknowledge that the Commissioners of the Department of Environmental Conservation and the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation have approved the Final Snowmobile Plan for the Adirondack Park/Final Generic Environmental Impact Statement.

Project Location: The bridge is located approximately 1,138 feet downstream of the Stewart’s Landing Dam on Sprite Creek off Stewart’s Landing Road in theTown of Stratford

Project Description: The proposed action is to remove an existing 47' long x 6' wide timber snowmobile bridge and replace it with a 60' long x 8' wide timber snowmobile bridge across Sprite Creek. The new bridge will have five piling-grade stringers, new deck, new running boards and new railing system. The existing bridge abutments were damaged during a rain storm event in June, 2006. The longer bridge is necessary to provide firm abutment support for the new bridge. Prior to construction, silt fence sections will be installed between the project site and waters of Sprite Creek. The new bridge abutments will be located on firm sections of the existing abutments. The project requires the cutting of eight trees with a three inch or greater diameter at breast height. This notice is in compliance with the policy LF-91-2, Cutting, Removal or Destruction of Trees on Forest Preserve Lands. There are no known threatened or endangered species in the project area nor are there wetlands in the project area.

Negative Declaration

Washington County - The Village of Whitehall, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Water System Improvements will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves construction of a new 1.0 million gallon per day water filtration plant required by a compliance order issued by NYS Department of Health on January 31, 2004; construction of a new 0.5 million gallon water storage tank; replacement of 2.6 - miles of raw water transmission main from the Village’s source water supply (Pine Lake, T/Dresden); replacement of 0.5 miles of finished water transmission main from the water treatment plant leading to the Village’s water distribution system; replacement of 600 ft of transmission main at NYS RT 22 bridge crossing (South Bay, Lake Champlain); replacement of 3.0 miles of deteriorated water distribution mains within the Village and Town of Whitehall Complex (T/Whitehall); repairs and mixing improvements to the Village’s existing 0.5 million gallon water storage tank located at Skene Mtn. (Off of Poultney Street, SR4- North); and replacement of residential and commercial water meters in Village and Town of Whitehall. All work within Washington County. The project is located at Blue Goose Rd, Town of Dresden: Village of Whitehall.

Washington County - The Town of Easton Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Sloan subdivision proposal (Project No.# 13-06) will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The project involves a subdivision of a 25 acre parcel from the main farm. The applicant proposes to create a single family residence on the lot. The parcel is a hillside with steep slope, is in use as a hay field, and is covered in part by a wooded area. The soils are chiefly NAC with a wet area running along the road side with soils largely HSDK. The main farm is an active small dairy. the farm is located within Washington Coutny AG District 3 and within Town of Easton CEA -1. The project is located at McCormick Road across from intersection with Center Falls Road.
