The applicant proposes to
construct a 20' x 40' garage and to install a 15' x 20' concrete
slab on the west side of the garage. The remainder of the lot is proposed to be a pervious
gravel surface. Existing rip-rap along the shoreline is proposed to be removed and
replaced with 55 linear feet of armor stone. The area landward of the armor stone is
proposed to be filled with 40 cu. yds. of clean sand and planted with beach grass. The
purpose of the project is to provide a garage facility for commercial/industrial use and to
stabilize the shoreline. The project is located at 42 Notre Dame Drive in Oceanside in the
Town of Hempstead, Nassau County, NCTM# 43-300-209.
