Niagara County - The Lockport Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Wal-Mart Supercenter No. 2107-02, Lockport may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves:

Original Description: 2004
Demolition of an approximately 285,000 square feet of an existing Mall and the construction of 203,091 square foot Wal-Mart Supercenter and eight pump gas station with associated utilities, access drives, parking and landscaping to support the proposed use.

Current Description: 2006
Demolition of approximately 285,000 square feet of an existing Mall and the construction of 185,000 square foot Wal-Mart Supercenter with associated utilities, access drives, parking and landscaping to support the proposed use. (smaller building, no gas station)

The project is located at 5783 South Transit Road, Town of Lockport, Niagara County.
