Project Location: This Wild Forest Area is located in the Towns of Croghan, Watson and Diana, Lewis County and the Town of Webb, Herkimer County.

Project Description: This action involves an extension to the public comment period for the Draft Watson’s East Triangle Wild Forest UMP from October 13, 2006 to October 20, 2006.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) as lead agency, has determined the proposed action described below will not have a significant impact on the environment.

Comments are welcome and will be accepted by the contact person until October 20, 2006.


Negative Declaration

Lewis County - The South Lewis Central School District Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Elementary School Addition and New Bus Garage will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. At South Lewis Central School High School and Middle School: demolition of existing bus garage, reconstruction and construction of parking facilities; construction of new elementary school addition; acquisition of 30 acres of land and construction of new outdoor athletic fields; closure of elementary schools at Constableville, Glenfield, and Port Leyden; sale and conveyance of 62 acres of vacant land on Smith Road. At Port Leyden Elementary School: conversions of part of building to new bus garage and construction of new driveway. The project is located in the South Lewis Central School District, Lewis County, NY.

Oneida County - The Town of New Hartford Town Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Retail Development Twin Orchards will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of 150,000 sq. ft. of retail/restaurant uses with associated parking spaces and utilities on a portion of the Twin Orchard's property located on Middle Settlement Road and will include approximately five (5) acres of the parcel to the north of the Twin Orchards property. The project is located at 465 Middle Settlement Road in the Town of New Hartford, New York.
