The Department has drafted
a permit and intends to modify SPDES Permit No. NY-0259012 to include the discharge(Outfall 002) from
an existing oil/water separator
wastewater treatment system which serves the floor drain in the shop area at the Allegany
River Rest Area. The treated water is discharged to an on-site storm water collection
system which flows to Birch Run, a tributary of the Allegheny River. The Allegany River
Rest Area is located on the westbound lane of I-86 (NY Route 17) about four miles west
of the City of Olean.

Waste Management of New
York (WMNY) has applied for modification of the Part 360
(Solid Waste Management Facility) Permit for the commercial/residential recycling
facility located at 3327 Walden Avenue in the Village of Depew. The proposal is to
process 1000 tons per day (tpd) of recyclables, municipal solid waste, construction and
demolition debris and industrial waste up from the 599 tpd presently permitted. WMNY
also proposes the following minor modifications to the facility floor plan and operating
procedures: relocating the recyclables interim storage area, creating a small vehicle
material drop-off area and modifying the facility vehicle circulation pattern. The project
is located on the south side of Walden Avenue, approximately 2800 feet east of Transit
Road in the Village of Depew, Erie County.

The applicant proposes to
extend a sanitary sewer line from Stony Road approximately
1,300 feet east to the proposed 264 lot Cross Creek Subdivision. The sewer line will be
be within an existing Erie County Sewer District #4 easement and the regulated 100 foot
wide adjacent area of New York State regulated wetland LA-15. The proposed sewer
main continues along the northern side of the subdivision, 1,700 feet of which is in the
regulated 100 foot adjacent area of the wetland. The subdivision is located on the north
side of Pleasant View Drive, west of Pavement Road and south of Ellicott Creek. One
stormwater outfall discharges to Ellicott Creek and another to the adjacent area of the
state wetland.
