Project Description:
The applicant proposes to construct a bridge that will span Cody Brook and Freshwater Wetland CE-3. Cody Brook is a C(T) water course and Freshwater Wetland CE-3 is a class II, 73 acre wetland. The wetland and watercourse combined are 53 feet wide at the crossing location. The stream and a portion of the wetland will be spanned with elevated 43 long steel I-beams.The western approach to the bridge will require a 50 foot long by 28 foot wide fill that will rise 4 feet to the bridge abutment. Most of the fill will be in the adjacent area with the abutment encroaching into the wetland.
State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:
Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was performed.
SEQR Lead Agency:
NYS Department of Environmental Conservation
State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:
Cultural resource lists and map have been checked. No registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified at the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.
Coastal Management:
This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
Opportunity for Public Comment:
Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than Oct 13 2006.
